Description

The contract for the Bendigo Hospital project has been awarded to the Exemplar Health Consortium.

Financial close was achieved on 29 May 2013. The lead parties within the consortium are Capella Capital as the sponsor, Lend Lease and Siemens as equity investors, Lend Lease as the builder and Spotless as the facilities maintenance provider. 

The project delivered:

  • a new hospital built on one site located in Barnard Street, Bendigo
  • 372 beds and 11 operating theatres
  • an integrated cancer centre and mental health unit
  • a helipad on top of a new multi-storey car park on Lucan Street connected by bridge link.

The public private partnership model for the Bendigo Hospital was a design, build, finance and maintain model, with the medical services being provided by Bendigo Health. The existing hospital remained operational throughout construction.

The Bendigo hospital was completed in early 2017 and is now fully operational.

Stage 2 construction of the multi-storey car park was completed in June 2018.
