What construction works and services suppliers can register onto the Construction Supplier Register?
For construction-related services suppliers: Pre-qualification on the Construction Supplier Register is available to a variety of suppliers of construction related professional services including architects, project managers, engineers and technical specialists.
For construction works suppliers: Pre-qualification on the Construction Supplier Register is limited to lead building contractors who are eligible to enter into contracts with Government.
The Construction Supplier Register does not pre-qualify sub-contractors and single trades (such as plumbers and electricians), manufacturers, materials suppliers and installers.
Suitably experienced and qualified construction works and services suppliers can apply for pre-qualification to the Construction Supplier Register across the range of available categories. There is no fee to apply.
What are the benefits of being pre-qualified on the Construction Supplier Register?
Construction works and services suppliers pre-qualified on the Construction Supplier Register are vetted by the Construction Supplier Register team on an ongoing basis against its mandatory pre-qualification requirements. This means that use of the Construction Supplier Register:
- streamlines procurement processes and reduces the administrative burden of tendering to both government departments and state agencies and construction works and services suppliers
- reduces the risks associated with using unknown suppliers
- helps drive continuous improvements of supplier performance, through the shared-reporting regime, across government
- maximises opportunities for suppliers to tender for government infrastructure and construction works and services projects. (Noting that pre-qualification on the Construction Supplier Register does not guarantee offers of engagement from Victorian Government Agencies).
More detailed information about the Construction Supplier Register’s benefits is available on the Construction Supplier Register’s Benefits page.
